White Rose is an oil field development project 350 kilometres off the coast of Newfoundland. Husky Energy is the operator and 72.5 per cent interest holder in the White Rose oil fields. Discovered in 1984, the White Rose offshore oil field is located in the Jeanne d'Arc Basin, 350 km east of St. The White Rose oilfield development involves recovering an estimated 36 million cubic metres (230 million barrels) of 30° API oil from an area of approximately 40km². The first three wells – N-22, J-49 and L-61 – were drilled between 1984 and 1986. White Rose was assessed at Dated Brent plus $3.65/b, the highest level since Platts started tracking the grade in 2006. The three Canadian East Coast crudes, which include Hibernia and Terra Nova, have similar specs to the crudes produced in the UK that form Brent. The flowlines at the South White Rose Extension, Southern and North Amethyst Drills Centres have been flushed with water and the oil, gas and water in the lines displaced to the SeaRose FPSO. The South White Rose Extension and North Amethyst Drill Centres have been isolated. White Rose is one of four Significant Discovery Areas operated by Husky Oil in the Newfoundland offshore area. The first three wells drilled on the White Rose Significant Discovery Area, White Rose N-22, J-49 and L-61, were drilled between 1984 and 1986.

Together these three offshore East Coast Canadian fields – Hibernia, Terra Nova and White Rose - account for about 200 Mb/d of light and medium gravity crude. While there is a ready market for that production at Eastern Canadian refineries, as we shall see there are no rules to prevent its export. The main White Rose field started production in November 2005 and, as of March 2014, produced 224 million barrels of oil (mbo). The development plan for all three satellite fields includes a subsea tie-back to the existing SeaRose FPSO. Rose Otto, White - Organic Our organic White Rose Otto is a rare and precious oil that comes from Bulgaria – an area renowned for excellence in Rose oil production – where it has been carefully distilled to capture the bouquet of the fresh white flowers. SeaRose FPSO is a floating production, storage and offloading vessel located in the White Rose oil and gas field, approximately 350 kilometres (217 Nm) east-southeast off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada in the North Atlantic Ocean. The White Rose field is operated by Husky Energy, with a 72.5% interest, with Petro-Canada owning a 27.5% share.
