The BC Sailing Offshore Personal Survival Course (Safety at Sea - Sea Survival) is for experienced sailors who are participating in distance and offshore races and passages. The course includes classroom and practical sessions. The USA provides its 'safety at sea' seminars in several modules. In order to meet the World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations Section 6 requirements one must take the "Classroom Presentations" (one day) module and the "Practical, Hands-On Training Seminar" (one day). At the end of the course you will have a good knowledge of the safety equipment carried on small boats and the seamanship techniques needed to survive at sea in heavy weather.
