FTSE 100 Futures Overview This page contains data on the FTSE 100 Index Futures CFDs. The FTSE 100 Index is a capitalization-weighted index of the 100 most highly capitalized companies traded on FTSE 100 Index. FTSE 100 Index is a capitalization weighted index and is the most widely used UK stock market barometer. Its members consist of the top 100 largest companies by market capitalization listed in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and about 80% of the market capitalization of the entire exchange. The index is maintained by the FTSE Group. In 2009, the futures contract on the FTSE 100 Dividend Index— RDSA Withholding (XZ) was launched. All dividends of the FTSE 100 Index constituents, with the exception of Royal Dutch Shell ‘A’ Shares (“RDSA”), are incorporated into the index at 100% of their declared value. For RDSA, dividends are incorporated into the index at 85% of their declared value. This reflects the application of a 15% withholding tax to RDSA dividends, since they represent a source of dividend income from the risk of loss in trading futures contracts or commodity options can be substantial, and therefore investors should understand the risks involved in taking leveraged positions and must assume responsibility for the risks associated with such investments and for their results.
